Before it ships
Every piece has to come through five things first.
Stairs
Two flights, in a hurry, without gathering anything into one hand.
The floor
Sitting cross-legged, for as long as it takes.
Arms overhead
Nothing rides up. Nothing gapes. Nothing to put right afterwards.
The turn
It should move a moment after you do, and settle a moment later still.
Six hours
Still comfortable at the end of them.
What it is
Cloth first, then the cut.
Cotton, cotton-silk and cupro. Handloom where it earns its place. Kurta sets, co-ords and a few festive pieces, cut and stitched in India in runs small enough that we know how many of each there are.
The first collection is a small one. We would rather it went than sat.
The first pieces
11–19 October
Thank you. We'll write to you in October.
Two days' notice, before anyone else.
